CARLA OATES ON GETTING THAT SUMMER GLOW
WALK THE WALK
Most mornings you’ll find me walking along Bondi Beach or at Centennial Park. It’s not only a great way to exercise, but I find it meditative. It’s like a natural filing system for my brain. Moving my body provides mental clarity and sets me up for the day.
FEED MY GUT AND SKIN
I start my day with GLOW Inner Beauty Essential and COLLAGEN Inner Beauty Boost in a big glass of water. GLOW is like your inner beauty moisturiser and Boost is like an inner beauty serum. I love the taste when they are combined and they powerfully delivery bioavailable nutrients and probiotics to look after my gut, skin and wellbeing throughout the day.
JOURNAL
Journaling allows me to explore solutions, pursue ideas and evaluate things from a healthy distance which helps reduce stress. If I'm travelling for work, I like to get in the ritual of jotting down thoughts from meetings, conversations and things I see in the street which I can ponder over later at a café over a pot of tea. If I'm travelling with family or friends, journaling helps me steal a few moments for myself and practice gratitude.
GET YOUR GREENS
I try to incorporate a good dose of leafy greens into all my meals every day, some of my go-to varieties include spinach, kale, rocket, and collard greens. Greens are a great source of fibre and prebiotics, to feed your microbiome - which in turn has profound immune, gut, skin and metabolic benefits. They also help combat inflammation which is great during summer when our sugar and alcohol consumption increases.
BEAUTY SLEEP
I finish the day with my favourite nighttime tonic – warm nut milk with The Beauty Chef’s SLEEP Inner Beauty Powder. SLEEP is a great way to promote good gut health and glowing skin. While you sleep, your body and skin repair on a cellular level. Our formula contains natural sedatives, passionflower and lemon balm as well as sour cherry which is naturally rich in the sleep-giving hormone, melatonin. It also contains a potent blend of bio-fermented pawpaw leaf and turmeric, with 1.5 billion probiotics per serve. When we sleep, we release hormones that act as skin and health-protective antioxidants so anything we can do to support a good night’s sleep will not only benefit our skin but our overall health as well.
