A VERY INTENSE GUIDE TO MEXICO CITY BY ALICE CARRETT
Potentially the easiest city to fall in love with. There is too much to do. Too much to see. Too much to feel. It's fantastic and wild but deeply relaxing. Stay in Roma or Condesa - a non-negotiable. This is the best list I could manage of all the best things to eat + drink + shop + do in Mexico City. The Google maps (160 saves and counting) is the full guide however favourites are listed below.

Expendio de Maiz An incredible experience. They don't do reservations so get there early and you can wander around to the local vintage stores. A must visit!

El Hidalguense Barbacoa is from the namesake's Mexican state. Specialists in all the yum things!
La Clandestina A curated mezcal bar hidden behind an unassuming storefront. Follow the glowing mezcal bottles.
Malcriado Great little wine bar in Condesa. The group that owns it runs a few places in the area and all are worth checking out. A chilled red goes a long way on a hot afternoon here. Also great to come back to for the largest breakfast serving you will find.
Nido Café For great coffee. All coffee in CDMX is generally fantastic I will say.
Esquina Comun Secret restaurant! DM them for a reservation well ahead of time and the location and menu will be revealed the night before.
Riviera Del Sur One of the few Cantina's left in the area. Great to sit street with a drink and some guacamole.
Mi Compa Chava For the seafood obsessed. Don't get the can sashimi thing. We fell into that trap and felt so sick after it.
Pastelería Ideal TREATS!
Panederia Rosetta MORE TREATS! Also a good way to try the famed Rosetta restaurant without eating pasta in Mexico.

Contramar I felt obligated to put this on here! We went for my birthday - full of Americans. I completely understand why the fish was amazing and the dessert cart was incredible. Was it the best meal we had? Probably not. Do I get the hype and would recommend? Defs.

Museo Anahuacalli Diego's evil fortress. He is definitely the villain but a chic one! A must-visit and definitely my favourite museum of the trip.
Chapultepec Castle I honestly just love a good castle. Great view of the city and gives you a good understanding of the history of Mexico and the revolution.
Frida Kahlo Museum I mean you have to right! Definitely buy the ticket that includes Diego's hectic castle. I do wonder what Frida Kahlo's thoughts would be about her likeness being sold to tourists on a hairbrush and in the form of a sparkly pen.
